Playhouse Corner, 77 Main Street North, Suite 205, Southbury. Clinic is for general public, ages 6 months and older. Appointments not required.
Vaccines offered: quadrivalent flu vaccine $30.00; Flublok vaccine $65.00; and high-dose flu vaccine $65.00. The following health insurances are accepted: Medicare (Part B); ConnectiCare; Aetna; Cigna; Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield; and HUSKY for children to 18 years. Insurance cards must be presented for each person receiving a vaccine. Please note that Access Health CT / CT Exchange plans (gold, silver, bronze), UnitedHealthcare, and other insurances are not accepted. Persons with other health insurance or no health insurance must pay with cash, check, or credit card.
The quadrivalent vaccine protects against 4 strains of flu virus. Flublok vaccine is not made with eggs; persons with egg allergies may receive this vaccine. FluBlok vaccine is only available at flu clinics in the Health District office. High-dose flu vaccine is available for persons over 65 years old. Studies have shown that the high-dose vaccine is safe and more effective for seniors than the regular vaccine, however, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) does not express a preference for any flu vaccine indicated for people 65 and older.
