Pomperaug Health District Offers Live Well Chronic Pain Workshops

Pomperaug Health District is offering two six-week “Live Well” Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshops beginning in late July and adults with chronic pain are encouraged to register for the free programs. The first workshop will run every Thursday afternoon from July 26 through August 30 from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at the Woodbury Senior Center, 265 Main Street South, Woodbury. The second program will be held in Heritage Village on Tuesdays from August 7 to September 11 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. The Heritage Village program is limited to residents only.

Take control over your life and health. Learn better ways of dealing with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep. Learn how to improve or maintain strength and energy and ways to improve nutrition. Learn about appropriate use of medications and much more.

This evidenced-based program is sponsored by the Pomperaug District Department of Health, the Western CT Area Agency on Aging, State of CT Dept. on Aging and CT. Dept. of Public Health. Funding provided by Connecticut Community Foundation.

Caregivers are also welcome to attend the sessions. Participants who complete five of the six weekly sessions receive a copy of the book “Less Pain Fewer Pills” All course materials are provided free of charge.
