PDDH to Hold Free Flu Shot Clinic on December 1
The Pomperaug Health District will be holding a flu shot clinic on Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 AM to noon at their office as part of the state-wide Influenza Vaccination Campaign for National Immunization Week. The Health District Office is located at Playhouse Corner, 77 Main Street North, Suite 205 in Southbury.
These clinics are for persons 6 months and older and are staffed by experienced, licensed nurses. Appointments are not required.
The following flu vaccines will be available: quadrivalent shots and FluMist nasal spray. The following health insurances are accepted: Medicare Part B; ConnectiCare (except the gold, silver, bronze plans); Aetna; Cigna; Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (except the gold, silver, bronze plans) and Medicaid/HUSKY. United Healthcare is accepted as of December 1st. Insurance cards must be presented at the clinic for each person receiving a vaccine. For persons 5 years years and older, who are uninsured or who have insurance that is not listed above, the Pomperaug Health District will provide free quadrivalent vaccine or Flumist. Special funding for this will be provided through the CT Department of Public Health for these vaccines and will be available only for this clinic.
High-Dose and Flu Blok vaccine will also be available. Person who wish to receive the high-dose or FluBlok flu vaccine may use insurance that is accepted or pay with cash check or credit card.
